I created SAM (Smart Alarm Monitor) as part of my research into how persuasive technology can help people build simple, life-saving habits. This is a free public service, and the data I collect helps improve how I design tools that promote safety, wellness, and better decision-making.

This version—SAM 1.0—focuses on helping people test their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. It will always remain free. In the future, I plan to expand SAM into a Smart Automated Manager (SAM 2.0) that provides reminders for other home maintenance tasks—making it easier to stay safe and proactive in every part of your home.
